According to data from the Ministry of Industry, Tunisia’s energy independence rate fell from 72% to 60% between 2013 and 2014.
This decline is the result of the worsening energy deficit by 51% to 3 million tons of oil equivalent (Mtoe) in late October 2014, against 2 Mtoe during the same period of 2013, notes the same source.
