Tunisia: energy trade balance deficit improves

The energy trade balance deficit recorded an improvement to 351 MTD in December against a worsening deficit in volume of 702 Ktoe, according to statistics released by the National Observatory for the Energy.
 
According to the same source, external trade recorded a deficit in volume of 4.61 Mtoe in 2015, i.e. a worsening of external deficit by 18% compared to 2014.
 
Indeed, imports grew by 2% while exports fell 18%. In value, imports of energy products fell by 29% against a decline of 48% in exports.
 
Thus, the trade deficit improved in value by 351 million dinars compared to 2014.
