Tunisia: EU Privileged Partner Status to be discussed June 13

The Arab Institute of Business Managers (IACE) is organizing Thursday, June 13, 2013, the Tunis Forum under the theme: “Privileged Partner Status for Tunisia: Fears and Opportunities.”

The event will bring together policy makers, politicians and representatives of “think tanks” of the private sector and civil society to discuss political and economic relations between Tunisia and privileged partners and their impact on reforms and the business environment in Tunisia.

The topics to be discussed at this forum will focus on the roadmap of the partnership, the new framework of sectoral cooperation (services, investment, agriculture and non-tariff barriers and challenges of privileged partner status of Tunisia.

The Forum will bring together leading figures and prominent politicians including Laura Baeza, Head of the European Union Delegation in Tunisia, Mansour Moalla, former Minister of Planning and Finance and Lamine Doghri Minister of Development and international cooperation.

The negotiation of this agreement comes in a transitional period in which the socio-political situation is fragile and is accompanied by a lack of communication which may cause misunderstandings and fears about an agreement whose content is controversial.
