The Licensing Committee of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) has granted FIRST PAY a license to operate as a resident payment institution.
“FIRST PAY must use this license within a maximum period of six months from the date of its notification, in accordance with the decision of the Licensing Committee No 59 of July 1, 2024, published in the Official Gazette of the Tunisian Republic (JORT) on August 9, 2024.
Pursuant to Article 10 of Law 2016-48 of July 11, 2016 on banks and financial institutions, payment services are mainly cash deposits and withdrawals, direct debits, payment transactions in cash, by cheque, bill of exchange or postal order issued or any other equivalent paper medium, and money transfers.
