Fitch Ratings has recalibrated its Tunisian national rating scale to reflect changes in the relative creditworthiness among Tunisian issuers, it said Thursday.
“The recalibration will result in rating revisions for some issuers with Tunisian national ratings and these revisions will be announced soon,” the rating agency added.
National scale ratings are a risk ranking of issuers in a particular market designed to help local investors differentiate risk.
Tunisia’s national ratings are denoted by the unique identifier ‘(tun)’, which Fitch adds to reflect the unique nature of the Tunisian national scale.
Fitch said these scales are not comparable with its international rating scales or with other countries’ national rating scales.
