Australia-based oil and gas explorer Jacka Resources has spud the Hammamet West-3 (HW-3) exploration well in the Bargou block, located off the coast Tunisia.
The HW-3 well is located in the Bargou permit about 15km offshore in water depths of 54m. It is also situated 1.6km east of Hammamet West-2, which recovered oil from the Abiod Formation and 1.9km SSE of Hammamet West-1, which encountered oil in the shallow Birsa Formation.
Under the terms of a farm-in agreement with Cooper Energy, Jacka is contributing 30% of the well cost up to a gross well cost of $27.2m.
