Tunisia: foreign exchange reserves cover 120 days of imports, highest since June 2022

As of October 6, 2023, Tunisia’s net foreign exchange reserves stood at 26.955 billion dinars, covering 120 days of imports, the highest level since the end of June 2022.

According to daily data from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), the foreign currency stock recorded an increase of TND 3.4 billion in value and 13 days of imports compared to the same date last year.

Foreign exchange reserves were boosted by a significant increase in tourism receipts and remittances from Tunisians living abroad. The latter two reached more than 1.7 billion dinars each at the end of September.
