Tunisia: fruit exports soar 133%

Tunisia’s fruit exports have soared 133%, during the current season, starting from January 2 to April 3, said the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries.

Revenue from fruit exports grew 49% over the same period of the previous year.

The quantities of fruits exported reached more than 581 tons with a value of 4.1 million dinars (MD) until April 3, against 248.9 tons and a value of 2.7 MD during the same period of the past season.

According to Ministry figures, raspberries are the most exported fruits and occupy the first place of exports, i.e. 98 tons (1,768 MD) exported to Germany, France and the United Arab Emirates.
