Tunisia: grain import will not be liberalized

Referring to the reforms needed to promote cereals, CEO of the Grain Board, Khaled Attrache said it was time to assess the contribution of the private sector in the collection of this product which has reached 65% during this season.

In a statement to “Attounissia” he found it useful to expedite the enactment of a legal framework to carry out such business since privatization has shown some strong points and some weak.

In this context, Khaled Attrache categorically denied that the reforms include the liberalization of the grain import in light of the subsidy policy conducted on commodities.
