Tunisia: hires overseas soar 71% in 2022. Healthcare and Canada lead the way

The number of Tunisian workers hired overseas through the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation has reached 973 from January 1 to April 30, against 570 during the same period in 2021, up 71%.

The total number of staff and experts attached to the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation has reached 21 513, said the agency on its website.

The agency has received 66 job offers from companies abroad to recruit Tunisian skilled workers, from January 1 to April 30,

The health sector tops the list of recruitment with 431 medics and paramedics, or 44% of total hires, followed by the engineering sector with 248 hires, then the education sector with 87 recruited.

Arab countries attracted 396 skilled workers, or 41% of the total, followed by European countries with 366, then American and Asian countries with 149 and African countries with 43 skilled workers.

Canada ranked first among the countries that have hired Tunisian skilled workers during this period, having contracted 133 Tunisians in several sectors such as paramedical, education, services and IT,

Germany came second with 131 hires, including in the paramedical field, followed by the Sultanate of Oman in third place by contracting 128 skilled workers in the paramedical field and France in fourth place with 126 hires, including in IT and specialized medicine.
