Tunisia: IMF in advanced talks over USD 2.8 billion loan

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) plans to finalize the details of a USD 2.8 billion (5.711 billion TD) credit over four years to help support the country’s economic reform programme, Amine Mati, head of the IMF mission to Tunisia said on Thursday.

At the end of the mission of an IMF delegation that visited Tunis from February 18 to March 3, 2016, for talks on a four-year agreement under the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF), to support the country’s economic reform program, Mati said that “the negotiations on the new agreement are at an advanced stage.”
