Investments reported in industry throughout 2013 posted a decrease of 4.4% compared to the same period of 2012, from 3,631.7 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) in 2012 to 3,472 MTD in 2013, said the latest figures from the Industry Promotion Agency (API).
This decrease was primarily due to reported investment in the area of agricultural industries which fell by 41.1% compared to 2012.
The decline also affected the sector of textiles and clothing whose investments have decreased by 25% or also the leather and footwear industries whose investments fell by 66.9%.
