Tunisia: inflation down to 5.5% in 2014 (BCT)

The Executive Board of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) noted at its meeting Monday, February 2, 2015 in Tunis a positive trend in the evolution of prices, reflected by the continued slowdown in the rise of consumer price index, since the beginning of July, reaching 5% year-on-year in December 2014.

Consequently, the BCT noted that the inflation rate has declined significantly throughout the year 2014 to 5.5% on average from 6.1% in 2013. This trend has affected prices of both free and controlled products.
