Tunisia’s inflation rate fell for the third consecutive month, reaching 4.2% in July 2015, against 5% in June, 5.3% in May and 5.7% in April, according to figures from the National Statistics Institute (INS) recently made public,
This decline is due mainly to the fall recorded in annual shift by the group “food and beverages” whose prices have increased by 0.1% against 1.2% compared to the same period of last year.
Similarly, the prices of the group “alcoholic beverages and tobacco” grew by 0.1% against 9.6% in 2014 and those of the group ‘transport’ increased by 0.1% against 1.7% for the same period in 2014.
The drop in inflation is also due to the rise in prices of the group “food and beverages” by 3.9% in comparison with the month of July 2014.
