Tunisia: Insurance sector turnover rises 11.5% by end of September 2025

Tunisia’s insurance sector recorded a turnover of TND 3,123.3 million by the end of September 2025, up from TND 2,802.3 million during the same period in 2024, marking an 11.5% increase, driven notably by growth in life insurance activities.

According to data from the General Insurance Committee (CGA), the life insurance sector saw its turnover rise 19.1%, reaching TND 888.3 million by the end of the third quarter of 2025, compared to TND 745.7 million in the same period of 2024.

This increase is partly attributed to a 12% reduction in claims paid, reflecting a significant improvement in life insurance underwriting results. The share of life insurance in the overall insurance sector turnover rose from 26.6% to 28.4% between September 2024 and September 2025.

Regarding non-life insurance, CGA statistics show turnover growth of 8.7%, reaching TND 2,235 million by the end of September 2025, compared to TND 2,056.6 million in the same period of 2024, while its share of total sector turnover declined from 73.4% to 71.6%.
