Investments in projects costing more than 5 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) have increased by 48.4% from 913 MTD in the first nine months of 2015 to 1,355 MTD in the first nine months of 2016, said the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII).
The number of these projects rose from 82 to 95 during the first nine months of 2016. These projects will create 8,369 jobs, compared with 5,093 jobs in the first nine months of 2015, up 64.3%.
It should be noted that projects of 5 MD and more, which account for 3.6% of the number of projects reported and 21.3% of the number of jobs, total 57.1% of the overall reported investments.
Of the 95 (I> 5 MTD) projects reported during the first nine months of 2016, fifteen projects totaled an investment of 588.8 MTD, or 43.5% of the overall investment (I> 5 MTD).
