Tunisia-LuxairTours: Tunisia back on the market in 2017

Despite a difficult year for tourism destinations abroad, LuxairTours increased its base of clients by 4%.

According to preliminary results released by the Luxembourg tour operator on Friday, the number of customers increased while average yields fell.

The greatest losses were recorded in package holidays to Turkey. Luxair has reduced its normal service from seven weekly flights to two.

Demand in Spanish coast has risen over the summer, with 70% of customers opting for this destination.

Meanwhile, there was a positive interest for Tunisia after the attack in Sousse where the company operates. Two weekly flights have an occupancy rate of 90% on average, says LuxairTours.

“We believe that Tunisia will be back on the tourism market in 2017,” assured Vice President of LuxairTours, Alberto Kunkel.
