Tunisia, Malta sign programs, MoU

A series of Memoranda of Understanding and programs were signed late Wednesday morning in Tunis, at the end of the eighth session of the Tunisian-Maltese Joint Committee meeting.

Chaired by the Foreign Minister Rafik Abdessalem and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta Tonio Borg, the closing ceremony was marked by the signing of the minutes of this session which provide for an annual schedule for implementation of cooperation projects in the economic and human development fields.

A memorandum of understanding on maritime transport was also signed between the Office of Merchant Navy and Ports of Tunisia (OMMP) and Malta Transport Authority, in addition to another memorandum in the field of sports.

The ceremony was also crowned by the signing of a cultural cooperation program for the period 2012-2014.

The 8th session of the Tunisian-Maltese Joint Commission, which continued for three days, has to take stock of bilateral relations and discuss ways to strengthen and diversify its fields.
