The city of Sousse will host from February 20 to 23 February 2012, the first international exhibition of olive, olive oil and byproducts of the olive tree “Med Mag Olivia.”
This show aims to consolidate the position of the flagship product of Tunisia in foreign markets, particularly distant markets, such as those of the United States, Canada and Japan.
It also seeks to help producers contribute to promoting exchange of expertise and techniques of production and processing of olive oil.
For Tunisian and foreign operators in the olive sector, the show will identify partnership opportunities and better assess the quality of Tunisian olive oil.
Alongside the exhibition, a scientific symposium will be held from February 19 to 23, 2012, in Monastir on “productivity and future challenges.”
Several issues will be discussed on that occasion including “the olive tree through time,” “the new production techniques of olive oil and table olives” and “quality standards of olive oil.”
