The money market rate (MMR), on Thursday, stood at 6.80%, according to the daily monetary and financial indicators of the Central Bank of Tunisia, as against 7.94%, at the same date last year.
As for the average MMR in March 2020, it amounted to 7.35%, against 7.84% in February 2020, 7.81% in January 2020 and 7.90% in March 2019.
This rate is the lowest since February 2019 (7.28%).
The drop in MMR resulted from the decision made by the BCT last March 17 to cut its key interest rate by 100 basis points to 6.75%.
The MMR has exceeded 7% since July 2018, while it remained at around 4% and 5% during the 2015-2017 period.
