Tunisia: Monoprix closes store in Libya, seeks partner in Algeria

Afif Bejaoui, International and Real Estate Director of Monoprix has confirmed the closure of one of the two stores bearing the sign Monoprix in Libya because of the deteriorating security situation in the country.

Playing the card of caution, the store located in Al -Hadba was closed and the only store open so far is the one located at Medrar located in a shopping center whose security level is high.

Recall that Monoprix has established itself in Libya following the signing of a Joint venture contract (50% / 50%) with one of the largest private groups in Libya (led by businessman Husni Bey).

For Algeria, Monoprix is seeking a strategic partner. The Algerian market is considered a growth market, but also known for its difficult regulation and administrative rigidity.
