Tunisia: number of French tourists in Djerba / Zarzis down 20.9%

According to figures provided by the Regional Commission of Tourism in Medenine, the number of German tourists, Japanese, Italian and Libyan in the tourist area of Djerba/Zarzis posted an increase in the period from January 1 to June 10, compared to the same period in 2012.

The number of Japanese visitors soared by +222.5% (258 in 2013 against 80 in 2012), Germans grew +22.4%. (46,242 in 2013 against 37,780 in 2012), Italians were up 21.4% and the number of Libyan tourists increased by 66.2%. (61,337 in 2013 against 36,816 in 2012).

However, the number of French tourist fell 20.9% this year (114,285 in 2013 against 134,518 in 2012).
