In a statement released Monday, September 9, 2013, the Interior Ministry reported that Tunisia had hosted during the month of August, 1,049,169 visitors, including 160,546 Tunisians living abroad, thus registering an increase up of 171,016 people compared to last year, according to figures from the Border and Aliens Department.
Libyans hold the first place with 240,021 visitors followed by the Algerians with 143,560, the French with 139,172, the Germans with 58,171, the Russians with 57,170, the British with 55,393, the Italians with 47,446, the Belgians with 22,205, the Czechs with 21,305, the Poles with 20,160 and the Dutch with 9,927.
The ministry also reported the entrance of 289 yachts in the country.
