The ownership rate among women in Tunisia is very low, less than 5%, Director of “Sigma Conseil”, Hassen Zargouni said in a statement to African Manager.
He noted that this figure does not reflect the reality of the economic role of women, adding that, given the fact that the rate of female higher education graduates is over 60% and they contribute up to 28% to economic activity, it is illogical that the rate of ownership among Tunisian women is so extremely low and most of them do not hold personal assets.
