Tunisia: Poulina Group posts H1 profit of 48 million dinars

Poulina Group Holding (PGH) has published its interim financial statements for the six months ended June 30. These statements show a net profit of 48.6 million dinars, compared to 39.7 million dinars in the first half of 2022, representing a growth of 22.5%.

The diversified group, founded by the late Abdelwaheb Ben Ayed, achieved a turnover of 1,694 million dinars at the end of June, compared with 1,689 million a year earlier, a slight increase of 0.3%.

Operating expenses were well under control, falling by 2% to 1,540 million dinars, compared with 1,571 million dinars in the first half of 2022, including 1,152 million dinars in purchases of goods and supplies and 101.3 million dinars in staff costs.

As a result, operating profit for the period increased by 33% to 158.2 million dinars, compared to 118.7 million dinars in the previous year.

In addition, the Group’s total bank debt reached 2,380 million dinars in the first half of the current year. Net financial expenses increased from 101.7 million dinars to 121 million dinars between June 2022 and June this year.

On the other hand, income from investments reached 27.2 million dinars at the end of the first six months of the year, compared to 24.2 million dinars in the same period last year.
