Preparations for the winter tourist season started in Tozeur, local tourism commissioner, Anwar Chetoui told TAP.
The focus will be on promoting the Tozeur in traditional markets, which he hopes their return, and the particularly promising Russian market, he added.
Chetoui added that meetings with professionals were held to discuss ways to strengthen the Tozeur-Paris line that was back in service on August 23 after the summer break and conduct a promotion activity on the French market. In this context, a delegation of French tour operators and journalists is expected in September.
Another meeting was held with the local tourism commissioner in Kebili, in the presence of professionals from both governorates to define a strategy to promote the Russian market in anticipation of the winter season.
That Market has largely contributed to the improvement in tourism indicators in the region between July 1 and August 20, 2016, with an increase of 74.4% in arrivals and 62.6% in overnight stays compared to the same period of 2015, i.e. 15,033 visitors and 19,431 overnight stays, the source said.
