Tunisia: Qatar lends $ 1billion; offer to host 20,000 Tunisian workers

Qatar announced, Wednesday, the granting of a loan of one billion dollars to Tunisia. It also expressed its readiness to host 20,000 Tunisian workers among unemployed graduates in this country, reports the Associated Press quoting the Spokesman for the Presidency.

Adnène Mancer made the announcement at a press conference in Tunis after the visit paid by Tunisian President Marzouki in Doha, where he took part in works of the UN Conference on Trade and Development and called donors to invest in “the new democratic Tunisia.”

The Tunisian President also traveled to Kuwait, where he obtained promises of funding of “costly projects,” including oil, according to the spokesman.

During this trip, the Interim President announced the decision to exempt nationals of the Gulf from entry visa to Tunisia starting from May. This measure “will impact on tourism and investment in Tunisia, “said the spokesman.
