Tunisia: reopening of airspace to Libyan airlines from Tuesday

The Ministry of Transport announced in a statement Tuesday, August 18, 2015, the reopening of the airspace to flights from Libya from Tuesday.

This decision aims to operate all commercial flights across the Libyan airports (East and West of Libya) to Tunisian airports, the same source said.

The Transport Department added that this move comes after a series of meetings between the Tunisian and Libyan civil aviation services.

It is in this context that Libyan companies were authorized to operate commercial flights to Tunisia, from two airports in Tobruk and Abraq.

Tunisia had decided on August 21, 2014 to close the airspace to Libyan airports, following the deterioration of security situation in the country’s airports.
