Tunisia: sharp decline in number of German tourists

The number of German tourists visiting Tunisia over the past decade posted a significant decline from a million between 2000 and 2001 to 400 thousand visitors now, Tourism Minister Amel Karboul said at a Tunisian-German meeting on the Tunisian destination, held on Monday in Tunis.

She explained the decline of the German market, which was the first customer of Tunisia, by the lack of means of communication likely to guarantee a match with the recorded changes in this area.

This is due, also, to inappropriate decisions made by the deposed regime, according to the minister.
