Tunisia, Singapore sign agreement for avoidance of double taxation

An agreement on avoidance of double taxation (DTA) between Tunisia and Singapore was signed at a visit of a diplomatic economic delegation to Singapore, Hatem Ferjani, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Economic Diplomacy told Express fm on Wednesday.

The signing took place in Singapore between Mrs. Eng-Tay Geok Lee, Deputy Commissioner (Business Group) of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), and Mr. Hatem Ferjani.
The DTA clarifies the taxing rights of both countries on all forms of income flows arising from cross-border business activities, and minimizes the double taxation of such income, IRAS said on its website.

This will lower barriers to cross-border investment and boost trade and economic flows between the two countries, it added.
A Tunisian Mobile Economic Diplomatic Mission paid a 5-day visit to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand to promote co-operation, economic partnerships and trade between Tunisia and these countries.
