Negotiations on increasing the guaranteed minimum wage (SMIG) will start next week, the Ministry of Social Affairs said in a statement released Friday.
The statement, issued after a meeting in Tunis between the Minister of Social Affairs, the President of Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) and Secretary General of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT), said the meeting was an opportunity for three social parties to affirm their commitment to establish a healthy social climate by protecting the purchasing power of workers and improving the profitability of businesses.
In this context, a meeting will take place next April 11 between the UGTT and UTICA.
