Tunisia: SOMOCER announces 8% decrease in Q1 sales

SOMOCER’s turnover decreased by 8% in the first quarter of 2022, compared to the same period of 2021 to 22.2 million dinars.

On the local market, sales fell by 12.6% from 22.5 to 19.6 million dinars between December 2020 and last December.

In contrast, the export turnover has preserved its upward trend initiated in 2021, recording a solid growth of 49.3% to 2.5 million dinars.

The production of the quarter recorded an increase of 4.7% compared to the first quarter of 2021.

In addition, investments in the period were about 574 thousand dinars compared to 507 thousand dinars in the same quarter of 2021, up 13.1%.

Bank commitments (balance sheet commitments) as of March 31, 2022 grew by 2 million dinars compared to December 31, 2021 to 77.8 million dinars.

Long- and medium-term debts account for 41.8% of the total balance sheet commitments as of March 31, 2022.
