Tunisia: SOTETEL improves EBITDA by more than 50% in Q1

The “Société Tunisienne d’Entreprises de Télécommunications” (SOTETEL) has announced a 22% growth in its turnover in the first quarter to 11 million dinars, from 9 million at the end of March 2022.

Local turnover reached 10.5 million dinars, up 17.8% compared to the first quarter of 2022, while export turnover amounted to 500 thousand dinars, up 462%.

Operating expenses amounted to 10.2 million dinars, up 18.2% compared to the first quarter of 2022, including consumed purchases of 5.2 million dinars (+21.6%), in relation to the increase in local sales.

Personnel costs amounted to 4 million dinars, up 18% compared to the first quarter of 2022, closely linked to the increase in the number of technicians assigned to exports and the implementation of the agreement on salary increases.

As a result, the company posted a positive EBITDA of 1 million dinars in the first quarter of 2023 compared to 0.7 million in the same period in 2022, an improvement of 51.1%.
