Tunisian startup Kumulus Water has raised €3.1 million Seed funding.
This funding will enable it to strengthen its deployment in Tunisia and internationally, in order to bring sustainable drinking water to the most isolated communities, using innovative and environmentally friendly technology.
The round was backed by Bpifrance (via France 2030 SGPI and the Île-de-France Region), regional VCs (PlusVC, Khalys Venture, Flat6Labs), family offices from Europe and North Africa, prominent startup founders, and Spadel, one of Europe’s leading bottled water companies.
“We’re deeply grateful to our existing and new investors for their trust and continued support,” said Iheb Triki, CEO and Co-founder of Kumulus.
“We are especially proud to welcome Spadel as a strategic partner — their long-term commitment to sustainability and innovation closely aligns with our values. Their involvement is a strong vote of confidence in our technology and our vision.”
Thanks to this funding, the startup plans to launch the Kumulus Boks, a new range of high-capacity devices designed to meet the needs of areas with high demand. The company also intends to strengthen its presence in France, Spain and Tunisia.
Furthermore, the company aims to expand into the Saudi market, where water scarcity demands innovative and sustainable solutions.
Founded by Tunisian engineers Iheb Triki and Mohamed Ali Abid, Kumulus Water develops and markets smart, connected machines that can produce drinking water from the moisture in the air.
The company’s ambition is to build a future where access to drinking water is not dependent on plastic or heavy infrastructure, but is based on a natural, renewable and inexhaustible resource: air.
