35 exhibitors including 17 Tunisian olive oil exporters will fly to New York to take part in the Summer Fancy Food Show. The event, the largest in North America for food, will take place from June 26 to 28, 2016. It attracts annually 2,550 exhibitors from 55 countries and nearly 45,000 professional visitors.
The Tunisian delegation will be led by Minister of Industry, Mr. Zakaria Hamad. But the big news this year is that the colors of Tunisia will be worn by NBA star Salah Mejri, who plays for Dallas Mavericks.
The United States of America is the first customer of Tunisia in packaged olive oil; this market is worth 20.1% of total exports, according to the Ministry of Industry.
Quantities exported to the US have quadrupled in the past five years, making the Summer Fancy Food Show a major event for the Tunisian olive sector.
