Tunisia’s textile exports are expected to exceed 9 billion dinars in 2025, said Industry, Mines, and Energy Minister Fatma Thabet Chiboub.
Speaking at an event marking the 19th anniversary of the Monastir–El Fejja Competitiveness Cluster in the capital, the Minister highlighted that the textile sector has undergone a qualitative shift that has made Tunisia the largest supplier of professional clothing to the European Union, with more than 9.7 million professional garments exported.
She noted that Tunisia ranks fourth among countries supplying jeans to the EU, with a market share of over 8%, adding that these indicators have helped make national industry a vital driver of the economy.
Since its establishment, the Monastir–El Fejja development cluster has contributed to attracting investment across various industrial sectors and providing technical support to manufacturers, business leaders, and project developers, as well as developing integrated services, particularly in the textile sector, she said.
The cluster includes a business incubator, a smart industry 4.0 center, a technological resource center, open labs, textile analysis laboratories, and four industrial zones.
It has also supported 60 emerging companies, 90% of which have been able to continue operating.
Additionally, the cluster has supported around 50 industrial enterprises in transitioning to smart industry 4.0 and has played an important role in guiding industrial companies through environmental issues, energy transition, and the shift toward a green economy.
On the same occasion, a partnership agreement was signed between the Tunisian Federation of Textiles and Clothing, the Monastir–El Fejja Development Cluster, and the Textile Technical Center, with the aim of boosting the sector’s competitiveness, attracting additional investment, and informing industrial stakeholders.
