Around TND 515.3 million in private agricultural investments were approved by the Agricultural Investment Promotion Agency (APIA) in 2025, marking an increase of 15.9% compared with 2024, according to APIA data released on Tuesday.
The Regional Agricultural Development Authorities (CRDA) also approved 3,651 investment applications worth TND 32.7 million for small farmers, bringing the total value of approved agricultural investments to TND 548 million.
These investments, which are expected to generate 3,015 new jobs, benefited from subsidies totaling TND 120.1 million, representing 23.3% of the value of approved investments. Likewise, investments approved by the CRDAs will receive subsidies amounting to TND 12.8 million.
Loans granted to agricultural investors exceeded TND 154 million in 2025 (about 30% of total investment value), contributing to the financing of 1,353 projects.
Land loans totaling TND 7.4 million were also approved during the 2025 fiscal year, of which TND 3.2 million (or 41% of the total) were allocated to women entrepreneurs. These land loans will enable the integration of 452 hectares of land into the economic circuit.
The sectoral breakdown of investments approved by APIA shows that agriculture accounted for the largest share, with investments of about TND 275.3 million (+5.3% year-on-year), followed by agriculture-related services (TND 99.5 million), aquaculture (TND 88.1 million), fisheries (TND 42.8 million), and primary processing (TND 9.6 million).
Investments approved for young entrepreneurs were estimated at TND 51.1 million, down 5.6% compared with 2024, while investments approved for women amounted to TND 18.6 million.
As for foreign-participation investments, they reached TND 21 million, up 162% compared with 2024.
APIA data also showed that a total of 5,962 investment operations were declared in 2025, with a value of TND 1,244.8 million, compared with 6,761 declarations worth TND 1,172.9 million in 2024, representing a 6.1% increase in value.
