European traders reported on Thursday that Tunisia’s grain agency issued an international bid to buy an estimated 75,000 tons of durum Wheat.
They were quoted by Reuters as saying that the origin of the offer was optional, and that deadline for submitting offers is November 1.
Three consignments totaling 25,000 tons are required, and will be shipped between Nov. 20 to Dec. 25, depending on the origin provided.
Tunisia’s failure to purchase 75,000 tons durum in the previous tender on Tuesday had led to a new announcement.
The traders stated that the purchase will be paid by Tunisian local finance. The World Bank, as well as other agencies that are helping Tunisia to overcome its economic problems, have provided financing for a number of tenders over the past few months.
