Tunisia: trade deficit hits record low, according to BCT

The Executive Board of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) reported, at its meeting on Monday, February 2, 2015 the persistence of the negative trend, reflected in the increase in the current account deficit in 2014 compared to 2013, to 7,385 MTD, the equivalent of 8.9% of GDP, against 6.302 MTD and 8.3% of GDP in 2013.

The Executive Board further noted the continued slippage of the trade deficit, which reached a record level (13.6 billion dinars), while it had been covered by the surplus in the balance of services only to the tune of approximately 23%, according to the Bank.
