Acting CEO of Tunisair, Halima Ibrahim Khouaja, has been elected First Vice President of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) during the organization’s 57th Annual General Assembly, held in Luanda (Angola) from November 30 to December 2, 2025.
This election strengthens Tunisair’s presence at the regional, continental, and international levels, the company said in a statement published Tuesday.
Organized by Angola’s national airline (TAAG), the assembly brought together a wide range of decision-makers from the sector, including government and diplomatic officials, heads of civil aviation authorities, regulatory bodies, and industry partners from across Africa and other regions of the world.
Founded in 1968 in Accra, AFRAA today brings together 50 airlines, representing more than 85% of the continent’s international air traffic.
The association also includes 35 partners from the manufacturing, supply, technology, and other non-aviation sectors.
