Tunisia: U.S. cruise ship with 2,400 travelers dock in La Goulette

The ship “Norwegian Jade” of American company “Norwegian Cruise Line” (NCL) docked Sunday morning, for the first time, at the port of La Goulette, Tunis, with on board 2,400 passengers, mostly Americans, Canadians and Australians, said TAP news agency.

About 900 passengers left the cruise ship to visit the archaeological site of Dougga, the National Park of Ichkeul, Carthage, Sidi Bou Said and the center of Tunis.

The American company “NCL” has scheduled three stops to Tunis, until the end of 2013 and six stops in 2014.

It should be remembered that until the end of September 2013, 147 cruise ships docked at the marina of La Goulette and that Tunisia welcomed 400,000 cruise passengers during the first nine months of 2013. This figure could reach 580,000 by the end of December 2013, according to the same source.
