Tunisia: UAE National Holding files complaint against Khayem Turki

The Public Prosecutor of the First Instance of Tunis ordered a judicial inquiry against Khayem Turki, as part of the legal complaint filed January 19, 2012 by his former employer, the Emirati Company “National Holding.”

Khayem Turki, member of the Democratic Forum for Labor and Freedoms (FDTL-Ettakatol) party and former candidate for finance minister in the government of Hamadi Jebali, told TAP agency, Monday, that he expected such a measure.

He said he will defend himself to prove his innocence of any involvement in criminal or civil case.

He reiterated his “full confidence in the Tunisian justice and its impartiality and honesty.”

This case, it should be noted, prevented Khayem Turki from joining the new government of Hamadi Jebali.

Ettakatol had expressed in a statement, in January, its astonishment at this case, denouncing “hidden sides that seek to harm the party’s image.”
