UBCI and the EBRD signed an agreement on Monday in Tunis for joining the GEFF program.
The GEFF program provides, with the support of the European Union, favorable financing to limited private companies for their investments in the areas of sustainable energy (energy efficiency and renewable energy), water conservation, waste reduction, green buildings, the circular economy, and protection against soil erosion.
A signing ceremony was organized in the presence of a delegation from the European Union and the TOX Fund, a partner in this program, to strengthen a long-standing partnership between the two institutions.
In a context of constrained financing, UBCI holds a key position in Tunisia in the field of Green Finance.
Its accession to the GEFF program will strengthen its capacity to support large companies, SMEs, and very small limited companies, by providing them with the necessary financing and assistance, particularly in strategic sectors such as renewable energies, waste reduction, and water conservation.
“By joining the EBRD’s GEFF program, UBCI reaffirms its support for the green economy and for ambitious companies. This strategic partnership will allow us to better support our clients in financing their energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water preservation projects,” added Mohamed Koubaa, Director General of UBCI.
