Tunisia’s unemployment rate in Tunisia is estimated at 15%, according to the results of the national survey on population and employment in the fourth quarter of 2014 conducted by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The number of unemployed people reached 600,500 of the total active population, estimated at 4 million and 14 thousand people.
According to the quarterly survey on employment, the number of unemployed university graduates reached 227,000 in the fourth quarter of 2014, representing an unemployment rate of 30,9 pc. This rate is divided into 12,5pc among men and 21.1 percent among women.
The breakdown by gender of active population is two million 885 thousand men and 129 thousand million women, representing 71.9 pc and 28.1 pc of the workforce, respectively.
According to INS, the number of active people in the fourth quarter of 2014 amounted to three million 413 thousand: two million 523 thousand men and 890,400 women.
