India’s VA TECH WABAG, a global pioneer in the water sector, has been awarded a contract worth TND 215.2 million dinars by the Tunisian water distribution utility (SONEDE).
The contract awarded by SONEDE is divided into three lots:
The first consists of the design, engineering and construction of a surface water treatment plant with a nominal capacity of 4 m3/s, including a 25% over-capacity for a treated water flow of 5 m3/s.
The project also includes the construction and equipping of the plant. It also provides for the construction and equipping of a treated water storage and delivery basin and two treated water storage tanks, each with a capacity of 10,000 m3.
The second lot includes the design and construction of a raw water pumping station with a nominal flow rate of 4 m3/s and a maximum flow rate of 5 m3/s, intended for the future treatment plant.
The third lot comprises the supply of DN 1800 mm ductile iron pipes, metering and regulating equipment and the DN 1800 mm raw water outfall pipe over a distance of approximately 1900 metres between the raw water pumping station and the treatment plant.
