Tunisia: WB allocates $ 500-million loan in budget support

“The World Bank (WB) will provide Tunisia a loan of $ 500 million (about 794 million dinars) in support to the 2013 budget,” said Minister of Development and International Cooperation, Lamine Doghri after a meeting Friday by Interim Prime Minister Ali Laarayedh and a World Bank delegation led by Director for the Maghreb Department, the Middle East and North Africa, Simon Gray.

“This is the same amount granted to Tunisia under the 2012 and 2011 budgets with the same repayment terms,” he added.

According to Mr. Doghri, the visit of the WB delegation is part of monitoring and evaluating projects planned for the year 2012.

The minister said it was agreed to accelerate the implementation of projects originally planned in the 2012 budget, and finalize the development of projects for 2013.
