Tunisia: Zitouna Bank engages in Islamic microfinance

Zitouna Bank will, soon, sign an agreement for the creation of an Islamic microfinance company in Tunisia, in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), CEO of the bank Ezzedine Khoudja told Express Fm, stressing the existence of twenty applications for approval of the exercise of microfinance in Tunisia.

The capital of the new company should reach 12 to 15 million TD. It will be held by the Zitouna Bank to the tune of 35%, Zitouna Takaful up to 15% and by the IDB, International Finance Corporation (IFC-member of the World Bank) and the Tunisian post.
