New car sales in Tunisia’s official market are showing intriguing trends in early 2026, characterized by persistent Asian dominance and a resilient showing from French manufacturers in the top five rankings.
Hyundai sets the pace
With a total of 1,682 registrations recorded between January and March 2026, Hyundai leads the market by a comfortable margin. While March proved solid with 565 units sold, it was February that served as the brand’s primary catalyst, posting a remarkable performance peak with 983 vehicles hitting the road in that month alone.
Isuzu and Kia round out an All-Asian podium
The battle for the runner-up positions remains competitive, but the rankings are clearly defined. Japanese specialist Isuzu secured second place, confirming its strength across both commercial and passenger segments with 1,335 registrations.
Completing the podium is another South Korean powerhouse. Kia maintained a strong presence, crossing the symbolic threshold of 1,000 units for the quarter with 1,068 registrations.
French rivals duel for fourth and fifth
While Asian brands occupy the top three spots, French automakers are putting up a respectable fight, locked in a tight internal battle for the remaining positions in the top five.
Peugeot claimed fourth place with 942 registrations, closely followed by Citroën with 924 units, rounding out the leaderboard for the first quarter.
