Tunisian: Nearly 8.5 million passengers in all airports by end of August 2024

Tunisia’s airports experienced traffic growth in 2024, with an overall increase in passenger numbers of 8.7% compared to 2023.

According to the Civil Aviation and Airports Authority (OACA), Tunis-Carthage airport, Tunisia’s main gateway, recorded a total of 4,844,705 passengers between January 1 and August 31, 2024, an increase of 8.7% compared to the same period in 2023.

Djerba-Zarzis airport also saw a significant increase, with 1,502,315 passengers, a 12.4% increase.

Monastir Habib Bourguiba airport welcomed 1,129,346 passengers, up 8.6%.

Enfidha-Hammamet recorded growth of 57.9%, with a total of 850,297 passengers.

On the other hand, Sfax-Thyna recorded a slight decrease of 3.3% with 108,983 passengers.

Tozeur-Nefta recorded an increase of 116.3% with 19,461 passengers, while Tabarka-Ain Draham posted a slight rise of 1.6% with 2,009 passengers.

The total number of passengers using all Tunisian airports was 8,458,209.

In addition, the total number of passengers at the airports managed by the OACA rose to 6,478,566 between January 1 and August 31, an increase of 9.4%.

At the airports managed by TAV Tunisia, this figure reached 1,979,643 passengers, a significant increase of 25.4%. A total of 40,767 foreign aircraft passed through Tunisia during this period.

In terms of aircraft movements, the OACA airports recorded 53,033 movements, an increase of 5.8%, while the TAV airports recorded 13,300 movements, up 24.3%.
