Tunisian startups at VivaTech, May 22-24 in Paris 

Several Tunisian startups partook in the 8th Viva Technology (VivaTech), Europe’s biggest startup and tech event, held on May 22-24 in Paris, France, reads a Communication Technologies Ministry press release on Saturday.

A Tunisian pavillon was set up on this occasion, bringing together a large number of startups operating in several fields, such as smart farming, digital learning, artificial intelligence, smart transport, environmental technologies and financial technology.

Communication Technologies Minister Nizar Ben Neji, who met with these Tunisians startups as part of his visit in Paris, underlined the importance the ministry places on ensuring that a large number of Tunisian start-ups take part in major international digital events.

The aim is to help startuppers showcase their projects and market their products and digital solutions globally, to identify financial backers and investors and to forge economic partnerships with international companies, he pointed out.

The minister further indicated that this participation falls under the 2025 National Digitial Strategy and the Startup Tunisia initiative, aimed to support private initiative, create projects and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship with a view to helping enhance Tunisia’s international influence.

The VivaTech saw the participation of 11,400 startups, over 150,000 attendees, 2,800 exhibitors, and over 450 speakers from 120 countries. Japan was celebrated as the Country of the Year during this edition.
